It’s that time again… time for me to pop out of hiding and check in on everyone. Yes I said check in, because the way life “could-be-set-up”, we all have to check in on each other from time to time.

So, how are you? Me? I’ve been selfish. Yes, you read that right, I’m a SELFish individual. I put me and my mental health first before I step out and do anything. It’s my version of selfLOVE, selfCARE, and all about me. Life as a whole is A LOT! You know it, you experience it, so there isn’t much for me to talk about with that right?
What I am going to talk about, is the fact that, YOU AREN’T as SELFish as you SHOULD BE. I’m not talking about not taking care of the family, ignoring your responsibilites and not helping your fellow man. That’s NOT what I’m saying! I’m saying, have the Airplane mentality. Meaning, if the plane’s air pressure gets low, the oxygen masks pop out right? The first thing they tell you, is to place your mask on first, then help others. Why? Think about it, if you’re so busy helping others with their masks, while the air pressure in the plane is diminishing, who’s gonna pass out first? Who’s NOT gonna be ANY HELP and will become MORE OF AN ISSUE because you didn’t put YOUR MASK ON FIRST!!
Long story short, YOU CAN’T HELP OTHERS if YOU DON’T TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF FIRST!!
STOP running yourself ragged taking care of EVERYTHING. Delegate, let someone else handle it. If you have a big task, take a moment or a few moments for yourself so that you can mentally prepare.

How? Here are a few suggestions:
- Spa Day
- Take a long bath
- Take a walk before work
- Read that book you’ve been wanting to read
- Knock out a 40 min workout with a relaxing shower
- Take a 3 day vacation without your laptop
- Take your time getting dressed and primped in the morning
- Have a mini concert in the car, just you and your tunes

These are just a few suggestions but, try them, even if you aren’t feeling stressed, stay ahead of the game and make sure YOU come first above everything else. Take note of the many celebrities that are taking mental health care seriously.
Follow their lead, take care of you first and stop being SOOO FREAKING BUSY!! Life, Bills, Responsibilites WILL BE THERE. Schedule time for you, and the rest will be a lot easier to deal with.
Take care of you… XO
